Last weekend was my first race. I've been training for a while and I feel I was well prepared. I was 12th of 15 riders in my division, but I had a personal record of about 58mins even after stopping for a guy that endo'd right in front of me and dislocated his elbow. More about that in a bit.

In 2012, a group of endurance mountain biking junkies created the ATX100K series which was sponsored by Texas Cycle Werks.  It's founding director, known to most only as "Desert Nomad" and "Todd Eric" to a few,  knew that the success realized by ATX100K was largely due to the support of Texas Cycle Werks and so became a staunch supporter of the bike shop.

Training For My First Race

So, I've got about a month left until my first race and I've ridden the trail a few times to get familiar with it. I'm completely new to race training, so I have no idea what I'm doing. It makes sense to be familiar with the potential course ahead of time so I know what I can expect. My times still need lots of improvement if I don't want to be dead last. And that's my goal, anything but last place.
